Due Date comes and goes

Well folks, we are nearing the end of the due date and it would seem we will not get to meet Baby Timmons today.  But we did get to go see the lights in Torrance last night.  I have seen better decored houses, but the number of houses in this neighborhood that partake in the festivities is amazing - probably about 80%/

Dad's favorite Chirstmas character is Frosty and we found a really neat blow up Frosty last night.
Mom liked this ferris wheel. THey had different Disney characters riding in the buckets!!
And o course there were the palm trees:
The downside is that mom and dad are making me share my backseat now.  I used to like Baby Duck, but now depise him (for now he gets to ride in the baby carseat).

Today we did not do much - just enjoyed relaxing.  But mom did make dad take a billion pictures of her in front of the tree.

last weekend before D-Day!!

Momma finally finished making pillows for the house.  WE needed some more pillows for outside to make the furniture more comfortable.  Dad says you can never have too many pillows.  Momma was also not happy with the family room - she kept telling dad that it looked like a beige monster threw up in there (beige walls, beige carpet, beige furniture).  So she made pillows for there as well.  Here are some pics of how it ended up  when she was done.

We had a great Thanksgiving - low key as momma was very tired and uncomfortable.  She was sad that she did not get to see "her people."  However, when the Bardolfs got together they skyped her twice so she did not feel left out.  Thanks to Theresa and Mitch for thinking of that!!  Momma showed her belly to everyone who said she finally looks pregnant.  And then the ladies gave her the bad news - it did not appear that she had "dropped" yet.
Sunday momma put the tree up and continued decorating the house during the week - she gets tired so easily now!! Here are some pics of what the house looks like now - momma just sits and stares at the tree every night.  She did not bring much with us in terms of Christmas, so it is not as dressed up as usual.  BUt that is ok since we do not have many surfaces or much space to decorate here.

We went to the beach on Sunday - it was 80 degrees here!!
Once we got home, dad and I hung out on the couch.

Mom has had a hard week - both Monday and today (Thursday) she did not feel well.  Monday she may have overdone it - she went to the gym in the morning, did some chores, errands, and then came home and crashed around 11 am - she felt sick to her stomach and was very tired.  She has not been back to the gym since - she says she will just walk me from now on.  So Tuesday and Wed. I got my usual long walks - 1.5 miles and 2 miles respectively.  But MOnday and today (Thursday) she watched Hallmark movies all day and dad had to exercise me.  Today's movies were not that good - they were not able to make a 9 month pregnant lady cry!!
Momma hopes the baby waits to come until Grandma and Aunt Becca get here (Dec. 9th) but is not sure if that baby will wait. . . .

new posts

I have posted some info from a while back to catch you all up.  But Mom made me put them in date order, so you have to go over on the right and click on the different months to look at these archived blogs.

2 weeks to go to D-Day!!

((OK - we have no idea what we are doing here, so postings will be bare minimum for a while.  But at least those who want to check on us can now easily do so.  ))

With two weeks to go until the baby's due date, mom and dad are still trying to get out and about.  Friday night they left me to go to the tree lighting ceremony at Fashion Island.  Dad kept referring to it at work as Grand Illumination and people looked at him oddly.  Mom said it was definitely not the same as the real Grand Illumination in Williamsburg.  But given that Grand Illumination is the same as D-Day, she can't go this year. So, this will have to do.  Saturday night they went to the symphony - Symphony No. 9 in D Major, Gustav Mahler.

Santa Anita

SO, mom and dad left me alone to go to the horse track today - dad got mom to go because
Yes, you got it - there were over 60 food trucks - mom was in heaven! And dad got to bet on some horses.  He told me he did not do too poorly.  Of course he said he would have done better if he had not listened to mom's input:)

Dad's 40th bday

So, I ended up getting a cool present for Dad's birthday!
Even though mom measured me before ordering my size (the largest available), it was a little small.  SO Dad had to make a few small cuts so that I can comfortable wear it.

The Trip

I am still wondering where all my stuff went and why those guys are putting everything in that truck.  Not sure I like what's going on here.

So after a few days on the road I thought it was time my pops and I had a chat.  I mean I like these people but 12 hours a day in the car with them, come on.

So after we got a few things straight, we hit the road and got where I really wanted to be.

Ok, so we left Vegas and finally made it to the coast.  But since I get up early, that update will have to wait.

WAVES

So, we had heard that the waves were gonna be unusually large at the beach (called the Wedge) near us. So, we made sure to go down and check it out.  Boy were they large- too big for me, so I had to watch from land.  The crowd that gathered was impressive.  Here are some pictures.

more trip pics

We left for Ohio on Sat., July 23rd.
 We went through West VA:

and stopped for a pic.  Momma and I in front of the Greenbrier.

Next state: Ohio.  ( 2 states down and 10 to go)

We stayed with Grandpa and Grandma in Ohio and I got to play with Liam. I think he took a liking to me. He enjoyed taking me on walks, so I fell in love with him.  We were there for a few days and then left on Tues., July 26th.

Into Indiana:

Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis- of course momma thought we were in Minneapolis!

Into Illinois (4 down, 8 to go)

Into Missouri (5 down and 7 to go)!

St. Louis Arch:

We stopped in Columbia, Missouri for the night (Tuesday). We did not do much other than eat dinner and go out for ice cream (my favorite!!), sleep, and then leave the next day.

From this point on the states took forever to get through and the sights got to be VERY boring.  And it got hot - really hot!!  Mom and dad could no longer leave me in the car to go in a restaurant and eat, so things got a little tricky.

Into Kansas (6 down, 6 to go)

Wednesday's drive was BORING - the only exciting things were the windfarms:
Other than that, this is what I could look at:

We stopped for the night in Goodland, Kansas (Wednesday).  THere were VERY few options for dinner.  We decided to get food from Walmart to heat up - yes that was the best option we had:(  There were thunderstorms, which I hate. So mom had to stay with me while Dad went to get the food. Luckily the hotel had a breakfast in the morning that was good.  Then we got back in the car.

I used to love going for rides - My ears would perk up as soon as anyone said the word ride.  Now I hate the car!!

Thursday's drive was a little better, as we went into Colorado. The beginning of the state was more of the same, but it got better!! (7 down, 5 to go)

Denver - the mile high city:

another picture of the scenery I saw in Colorado:

We stopped for lunch in Vail.  Boy was that a cool place - dad and mom both want to go back. THey really think Aunt Becca needs to visit there as well.  And because we were in the mountains, the temperature finally came down.  So, I got to strecth my legs for a bit rather than just getting out to do my business and getting right back in the car.  There was even a little stream going through the village that Dad let me play in.  We also had lunch, then got back int he car - BOOO!!!

Next, we headed into Utah, which looked VERy different than Colorado (8 down, 4 to go).
Mom had talked dad into stopping in Moab.  It was a little out of the way, but we were all glad we decided to take the detour.  Mom had been there with her friend Betsy when they drove cross country in 1999 and wanted to show it to Dad.  Betsy and mom had gotten to ride on the slick rock bike trail, but did not get to go to Arches National Park.
We spent Thursday night in Moab, Utah.  WE got up fairly early and went to Arches National Park.  Here are some pictures of our drive in Utah as well as our tour of the park.

What does this remind you of?

After the park, we got back in the car (ERRRR!) and headed for Vegas.

Into Nevada we go (9 down, three to go)

The new bridge over the Hoover dam:

We spent Friday and Saturday nights in Vegas - at the Loews.  I loved it there - they are so dog friendly. Mom and dad did a little sight seeing, which meant I had to stay in the room, but it was nice and cool, so I was fine.

Mom with Bumblebee (for you Brady!!)

Sunday we got in the car to head for California - finally.  We had a bit of a problem with the car while still in Nevada.  But we got lucky - if the car had acted up 20 miles earlier we would have been in the middle of no where.  But we found a nice GM dealership where we had the problem and they helped us out - even though we rolled in about 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon.  It was very hot out, but they even let me come inside and sit on the cool floor and watch tv while they repaired the spark plug.  THen we got back in the car and kept going.

Into Arizona (10 down, 2 to go)

Into California - last one!!

I made it to California!!!!!
