Janey was so cute the other day, I had Papa Bear take this video of her.

Hello all. Not much has been happening. Janey's schedule has become more consistent, which means I get more attention. Janey shows more personality each day. She is getting better at using her hands and continues to love blowing bubbles with her spit. This week she discovered how to make "raspberries" with her mouth. Boy does she make a mess- she gets spit all over her face and head.
And we found out she fits right in with the family- she snores!! Here is a video of her snoring on a walk.
But the snoring did not bother me - I still managed to find the biggest downed branch to try and carry home:
Mama Bear and Papa Bear had to get Janey a new bathtub because she outgrew the last one. Janey has a lot more room in this one and enjoys kicking her feet around. Here is a video of Janey in her new bath.
Mama Bear continues to make friends. I especially like her friend Terri-who happens to be a high school math teacher. Terri is married to Matt, who works with Papa Bear. Terri and Matt have a daughter, Madeline, who will be 2 in May and are expecting another girl in July. But the best things about them are their dog, Bixby, and their pool. One Friday all four of us were invited over for a swim and drinks. Papa Bear was excited to introduce me to a new friend. I liked her right away- she reminded me of my friend Bella (a golden from Virginia). Bixby and I wrestled a lot and then even fetched balls from the pool. Janey enjoyed watching Madeline while Mama Bear and Papa Bear enjoyed some drinks and adult conversation.
This weekend I got away from the family for some dog time. Mama Bear and Papa Bear dropped me off at daycare for a sleepover. I even got a bath and a pretty bow.
When they picked me up I overheard them talking about their night. Apparently they went to visit Erin and Simon in La Canada. It was Janey's first night away from home and according to Papa Bear Janey did very well. The three of them got up there around 1 pm and had lunch, then went to Santa Anita. Papa Bear won some money and Mama Bear got more practice feeding Janey in public- which Mama Bear hates. Mama Bear is no good at getting the task accomplished. Every time Janey began to eat the announcer came on the loudspeaker and Janey would stop eating to listen. And if the announcer wasn't enough of a distraction, the print on the nursing cover also distracted Janey. Janey just kept looking at it and trying to grab it and put it in her mouth. This made Mama Bear so mad- not only did it mean Janey was not eating but she was also "uncovering" Mama Bear every time she grabbed the nursing cover:) Janey loved watching Katelyn(Simon and Erin's daughter). Katelyn was precious and very affectionate towards Janey.
Here is a pic of Janey and Katelyn:
Janey continues to have blow outs- here is a picture of one that went all the way down to her socks:
And here are a few other pictures taken since the last update.
Mama Bear found an ugly rash in one of Janey's neck folds and took her to the doctor. IT was nothing, but while there the doctor reminded Mama Bear of the importance on tummy time. SO Mama Bear has really been working hard to get Janey on her tummy more - Janey is supposed to be doing three 5 minute sessions a day. Around 12 weeks Janey was only able to tolerate a minute and a half, but after some hard work, she can now stay on her tummy for 5 - 8 minutes at a time!! Her is a picture of tummy time - check out that neck!!
THe doctors also sent Mama Bear home with some neck strecthing directions for Mama Bear to use on Janey. Janey continues to sleep on the right side of her head, which is creating a flat spot. So Mama Bear has to do these neck stretches 8 - 12 times a day with Janey. I tell you - byt he time Mama Bear feeds Janey, doee tummy time with Janey, stretches Janey's neck, and takes Janey and I for a walk there is not much time left in the day.
Mommy leaves for Virginia in less than four weeks and is very excited!!!!

Early March
Aunt Cat came to visit me. I love it when my old friends come out to CA!! She even brought her new boyfriend - he likes dogs, so he got my approval right away:)
Aunt Cathy did not get in until almomst 3 am our time (6 am her time!!). But she said hello to me right away. And she got up fairly early to see Janey:
Janey loved being in Aunt Cat's arms.
Another pic of Aunt Cathy and Janey:

Mommy holding Janey at dinner:

Janey is growing like a weed - she is already wearing 6 month clothes. Mommy is constantly putting clothes that no longer fit into a box. Look at this onesie - it is not even close to being "wearable."
But Aunt Becca came through again - look at this adorable dress. Janey felt so pretty in it.
Aunt Becca found this, too. I wish Mommy had gotten a picture of Janey from behind - there are ruffles all over the botton of those "coolots."
Daddy loves seeing Janey in the cookie monster towel and took another round of pics.
Another outfit from Aunt Becca - right after this shot she had to be changed - you guessed it - Janey got poo all over it:)
This outfit is from Grandma. It must be good luck - the outfit lasted until about 4 pm, at which point Janey had to go for outfit #2 - not bad - usually we are on outfit #3 by that time of day!!

Baptism
Mommy talked Daddy into leaving me home alone for a week. BOO!!! THat means I have to go to daycare around the clock for 7 days. That part is great, but the nights are not - I will miss snuggling with my daddy.
Right now Mommy has tentatively scheduled Janey's baptism for June 24 in Williamsburg - Bruton Parish. Mommy and Daddy are hoping to make a weekend of it - that people will come and stay in Williamsburg for the weekend. Daddy is excited to golf and enjoy seeing everyone, as is Mommy.
THey have to do this soon because Janey is growing like a weed and won't fit in this beautiful gown for long. Mommy's Aunt Martha made it using parts of Nana Tate's wedding dress. It is gorgeous (those are Mommy's words, not mine:))

February is gone?!?
So, Janey had her two month check up. All was good number-wise, but boy was she tired and a little fussy when she got home - Mommy said she had to get stuck a bunch of times with a needle. Janey was in the 50th percentile for weight (11 lbs), 90th percentile for height (23.5").
Here is a video of her boo boos and her new "sounds."
Janey is really cute when she wakes up - she arches her back and does a BIG stretch. Mommy tried to get a video of it.
Aunt Becca sent this cute tee. Look at that HUGE smile!!
During week 9 Janey found her hands - or at least that is how Mommy keeps discribing it. Janey can grab things now. And once she has anything in her hands it goes right to her mouth!!
We like this dress, too. And the sunglasses make the outfit (thanks Mary-Lyons)!
Grandpop took this picture while they were out visiting- the family (minus me) at the beach. But no worries, I was busy playing in the water!!
Janey's coat has ears!!

In the middle of February, Mommy and Janey began going to a playgroup. Mommy had already done things outside of playgroup with one of the other new moms, Gwen. Last week Gwen and Mommy discovered they both have a fake tooth due to a drunken accident. . . .Hee Hee!
Not much else went on in February, but here are some random pictures of Janey.
Mommy says this picture of Janey looks a lot like Mommy did when she was a baby. She hopes to find a baby picture of herself to post next to this pic. And take note, Janey is observing and beginning to duplicate many of Mommy's facial expressions.

We love this outfit - of course it only lasted on her for about 2 hours. THat girl produces poop like it is her job. I thought I was bad going three times a day. Janey is far worse! And it usually comes out the side of her diaper, requiring someone to put a different outfit on her. One day it was like a pot was boiling over - it came up and over the diaper and went everywhere.
